Patch 9.0.5 is an “x.x.5” patch which means it is a smaller patch than the bigger ones such as 9.1, 9.2 etc. This patch has a main focus on systems and not content.
When is 9.0.5 coming out
What is stated is that we are getting 9.0.5 patch in March 2021.
What I´ve speculated based on what is stated and looking at when we reach maximum Renown, it looks like 9.0.5 will come 16th or 23rd of March.
What is coming out in patch 9.0.5
As mentioned, its all about systems and more precisely:
- Implementation of Valor Points
- Covenant changes – upgrades /nerfs
- Conduit changes – upgrades /nerfs
- Legendary changes – upgrades /nerfs

- PvP changes

The non-system-based updates we getting are following

Covenant Changes
All classes got minor or major changes in their covenant abilities. The main goal Blizzard has is to balance the covenant abilities so that none of them sticks out too much compared to the others within a class. So basically, you will see maybe a nerf in the best covenant for your class/spec and upgrades on the covenants that are not good, or as good.
Here are all the changes in detail for covenant and covenant class abilities: https://www.worldofmoudi.com/covenant-and-conduit-changes-in-9-0-5
Conduit changes
At the moment we don’t have changes on all classes when it comes to conduits. The only classes that got conduit changes are Demon Hunter, Druids, Priests, Rogues and Warriors.
You can check the conduit changes here https://www.worldofmoudi.com/covenant-and-conduit-changes-in-9-0-5
Legendary changes
Similar to the covenant changes, the main goal Blizzard has is to balance the Legendaries so that none of them sticks out too much compared to the others within a class. So basically, you will see maybe a nerf in the best legendary for your class/spec and upgrades on the legendaries that are not good, or as good.

Mythic plus reward
If you don´t complete the mythic keystone dungeon in time, you will get an extra item anyway BUT the second item will have a slightly lower ilvl then the ilvl of the main item reward.
