Full Mechagon Guide

Have no Fear, MOUDI is here

Background

Mechagon is a big island, full of robots. It was King Mechagon that had the idea that all organic life is fragile and weak. So he decided to put mechanical parts into organic creatures. Since he was obsessed, he wanted more and more parts to become mechanical and the final goal, remove all that is left of organic material.

Not everyone shares his crazy ideas. One of them is the Prince Erazmin who is the leader of the Rustbolt Resistance. This resistance wants to stop the King from achieving his goal.

The majority of the actual Island is a junkyard and there is a big mountain in which the “real” Mechagon lies inside. And that is the actual Mechagon Dungeon, where you start outside on the island and move in through the sewers to finally reach Mechagon city to confront King Mechagon.

First: Unlock the Starting Quest

Before you unlock the starting quest that takes you to Mechagon, you must complete the Achievement “The Heart Forge”.

To complete that achievement, you must do the starting area in Nazjatar, until you open a portal to Dazar´alor/Boralus.

When completed, you will see magni pop up in that area. Check mini map for new quests nearby.

Magni will give you a starting quest in which you end up with the achievement “The Heart Forge”.

Both Alliance and horde has an NPC that starts a quest that takes you to Mechagon.

Second: Unlock World Quest in Nazjatar

Do the starting quest in Newhome (Horde) or Mezzamere (Alliance).
Once completed, you get the reward "Unlock World Quests".

Third: Head to Mechagon

Horde

For Horde players, you head to Dazar´alor in Zuldazar.

Run next to the Flight master and you will see goblins further away.

Check minimap and you will  see a new quest.

The NPC is called Gazlowe.

The starting quest is called “The Legend of Mechagon”.

How to go back to Mechagon

Head to the area you took the boat to mechagon. Talk to Captain Krogg.

Alliance

For Alliance players, you head to Boralus in Tiragard Sound.

Run next to the Flight master and you will see goblins next to it (see pics).

Check minimap and you will  see a new quest.

The NPC is called Tinkmaster Overspark.

The starting quest is called “The Legend of Mechagon”.

What are Construction Projects

Construction projects are broken machines in Mechagon Island.

There are 5 different types of machines that can be fixed and two of them are available per time they are up. Different construction projects are available every day.

When you run across a piece of broken machinery, you and others can team up to repair it by contributing resources. These resources are Mechagon Tinkering items that you gather through various sources in Mechagon.

There are 4 different types of Tinkering items, but only two of them are used for repairing machines.

  • Spare Parts
  • Energy Cells
  • Chain Ignitercoil
  • Galvanic Oscillator

The locations of the construction projects change throughout the day.

Talk to Waren Gearhart in Rustbolt, when you want to find out what construction projects are available that day.

Many construction projects can be completed by one person, but some requires a lot of resources and several players to complete once activated.

Activating all 5 construction projects will reward you with the achievement: Diveresed Investments.

Types of Construction Projects

There are 4 types of construction projects

  • Drill Rigs
  • Reclamation Rigs
  • Charging Station
  • Flame Turrets
  • Rustbolt Armories

Drill Rig

Drill Rigs are located on different parts in Mechagon.

They need to be repaired for it to function.

You activate/repair Drill Rigs by completing the quest from it which requires parts needed.

The parts needed are:

  • Energy Cells
  • Spare Parts

Drill Rigs will blast a cave entrance that is blocked with stones wide open and give you access to a cave called Crumbling Cavern.

In there, you will have loads of small mobs spawning over and over, and yes, they all drop Spare Parts loot.

In there, you will fight a Rare Spawn add called Gorged Gear-Cruncher.

There is a flame turret in there that you can activate to help you killing mobs as well.

You have a cpuple of minutes to nuke everything in there before you get kicked out.

Don´t forget to loot.

Reclamation Rig

Location: The Outflow

Several players are needed to activate this rig since it requires lots of material.

Once activated it will make a lot of noise and attract enemies.

This triggers an event, in which you have to defend the machine.

Once completed, you get

  • Box of Assorted Parts
I have opened this box 5 times and got a
    - Blue Punchcard (Supplemental Oxygenation Device)
    Increase lung capacity by 1000%.

Once it breaks after it is over, you can start up again to rebuild it. Takes a while.

Charging Station

Location: Bondo´s Yard

This station lets you convert all of your Empty Energy Cells into fully charged Energy Cells.

But, it costs to start converting.

  • 250 Spared Parts
  • 1 Energy Cells

Once completed, you get "Access: Charging Station" which grants temporary access to the charging station allowing you to charge Empty Energy Cells five times.

Wath out for the mob "Scrapbone Energy Eater" that will attack you after you charge the cells. Killing him and looting will give you

  • 25 Spare Parts
  • 2 Empty Energy cells
  • 1Charged Energy cell.

Flame Turrets

Activating Flame Turrets will help you kill mobs close by.
Costs 100 Spare Parts

Rustbolt Armory

  • There are different types of weapons that you can make through quests (daily) in Rustbolt.
This armory keeps a stockpile of weapons that you have created in Rustbolt.
In this way you can swap between the ones you have created.
  • You can also get anti-gravity packs which makes you fly for 10 min.

Launch Pads (it seems that this was removed and instead Rustbolt Armories came in)
This launch Pad will give everyone a chance to fly around on Mechagon for a while. You strap a rocket pack onto the back of anything and it will fly straight up in the sky.

What are punchcards

These are similar to Jewelcrafting Gems. It gives you an extra benefit on a specific trinket.
You can basically custom make a specific punchcard trinket by using punchcards on the empty slots on that trinket.
And the cards have different cool stuff.

There are 3 different types of punchcards.

Yellow

This gives secondary stats – Mastery, Versatility, Crit, Haste.
It gives 2 of them per card.

Blue

This card gives a cool ability.
For example, increase lung capacity by 1000, or Track nearby Mechanical Creatures.

Red

This card gives an ability that you use on enemies.
For example. Channel a cyclotronic blast that does high dmg and dmg over time on your enemy. Or, a chance to get 10% haste when you do dmg or heal.

How do I get a Punchcard Trinket

The trinket you get is from a quest in Mechagon, Rustbolt.
This is a quest that pops up at the start of the questline.

The NPC is called Christy Punchcog.

Quest: Upgraded
This quest gives you a trinket as reward (Pocket-Sized Computation Device)

How do I get Punchcards

Yellow Punchcards

These yellow punchcards will always have

One high secondary stat
One low secondary stat

The higher secondary stat will always have one of the other secondary stats, meaning, you can find a higher stat with the lower stat you prefer.

Some specific Rare Spawn mobs in Mechagon island will always drop a yellow Punchcard.
It is different punchcards, but it is always yellow.
Meaning the stats differ.

  • Uncle Trogg
    Inside the cave.
Tip: You might need help from more players to kill it.

  • Malfunctioning Beastbot
You must activate this mob to be able to attack it.
    1) Take the Blueprint: Beastbot Powerpack is just in front of the Malfunctioning Beastbot.
    2) Run back to Rustbolt and talk to the machine, Pascal to learn it.
    3) Make the item “Beastbot Powerpack”.
    4) Run back and click on the mob, now you can engage.
Tip: You might need help from more players to kill it.

When I find more, I will add it here.

Mechagon Dungeon

Every boss will have a chance to drop different yellow punchcards.

These yellow punchcards will always have

One high secondary stat
One low secondary stat

The higher secondary stat will always have one of the other secondary stats, meaning, you can find a higher stat with the lower stat you prefer.

Omnipurpose card (From 1st and 7th boss)
