WoW Housing: Best Tips Guide

1. Getting Started: Your First House

  • Starter Decors: You get a basic kit with 1–2 of each decor item. It won’t be much—plan to collect more!

2. Budget System & Leveling

  • Decor Budgets: Placing more decors and rooms costs budget.

  • House Leveling: Your house has its own XP and levels. Higher levels = bigger budgets for more decors and rooms.

  • How to Level Up: Every new decor you unlock gives your house XP. The more decor you farm, the faster you level up.

3. What To Do First?

  • Before Decorating: Focus on unlocking and farming as many decors as possible.

4. Eight Ways to Unlock New Decors

  1. Achievements

    • Some decors unlock from achievements.

    • Use the "Home Bound" addon to track your progress.

    • Every achievement decor is added to your Decor Catalog.

  2. Reputation & Zone Quests

    • Certain vendors require specific reputations or questlines to unlock their decors.

    • "Home Bound" addon also helps track quest progress.

  3. Neighborhood Vendors

    • 5 vendors for Horde, 5 for Alliance, found in neighborhood villages.

    • No requirements: just buy!

    • Each zone also has 2 smuggler vendors with extra decors.

  4. Weekly Neighborhood Quest

    • NPC “The Last Architect” in the village gives a weekly quest (find a clue/treasure) that rewards a decor.

  5. Endeavour Vendor

    • Like the Trading Post: complete tasks to earn points and coupons.

    • Exchange these for special decors at the Endeavour Vendor.

  6. Crafting

    • Many decors can be crafted (or bought via Auction House or Crafting Orders).

  7. Boss Encounters

    • 26 bosses drop unique decors (possibly per difficulty—unconfirmed).

    • Group runs mean rolling for loot; can also drop in follower dungeons.

  8. Store

    • Some decors are sold in the Blizzard in-game shop for “hearthseel” (real-money currency).

5. Getting More of a Decor

  • To get multiples of a decor you’ve unlocked, visit the vendors tied to that achievement, quest, reputation, or endeavor.
