What you can do this week in WoW (Jan w2)

We are in our second week of the year and the major new change came out in the middle of last week, that we can upgrade the Legendary ring with Valor points. It is a bit more expensive (1250 valor per upgrade) than the normal valor upgrades (250 valor per upgrade).

For this week in WoW, we have several things to do and it all comes down to how far you have come in your character progression, the way you want to carve.

Weekly Event: Apexis Crystal Bonus

For the players that needs Apexis Crystals, this is a good week to farm them.

This event starts 12th for US and 13th for EU.

  • You automatically receive a buff (Sign of Apexis) which grants you 200% increased Apexis from creatures within Apexis-yielding areas (the ones in Tanaan Jungle works as well).
  • We will also be able to take the Event quest: A time to Strike. This quest wants you to complete 5 Objectives in Apexis-yielding areas.

When completed you will be rewarded with

  • 1500 Oil
  • 5000 Apexis
  • 1000 Garrison Resources

With Apexis Crystals you can buy (click here to check everything you can buy for Apexis):

  • 13 pieces of Baleful gear and upgrade them to 695 ilvl.

  • Blazing Firehawk pet that costs (2000 Apexis).

  • Reins of the Corrupted Dreadwing, Flying mount (150 000 Apexis)

  • Rukhmar's Sacred Memory: (toy) Transform into a Rukhmar Adherent (50 000 Apexis).

  • Solar Priest Vayx: Hire follower with the special Apexis Attenuation ability (1000 Apexis).

Upgrade legendary ring

As mentioned, we can now upgrade our Legendary rings buy buying Crystallized Fel (dropped only from Archimonde once a week before) for 1250 Valor points.

The Crystallized Fel upgrades your Legendary ring with 3 ilvls and you can buy as many as you can afford and upgrade.

The best way to farm Valor points depends highly on how geared your character already is. But I have listed them in order here. If you complete all 4 steps, you will earn 4875 Valor points in a week.

  • Mythic Dungeon farming
    For each Mythic Dungeon you complete, you earn 300 Valor Points.
    You can do the same Mythic Dungeon only once per week, but by doing all of them, you will earn a total of 2400 Valor Points.
  • Weekly Event quest
    All weekly events (except pet battle even) rewards 500 Valor points when completed.
    You get your weekly event quest from your Garrison.
  • Heroic Dungeons
    The first time you do a Heroic Dungeon a day, you get rewarded with 100 Valor.
    If you do one per day you will earn 700 Valor Points in a week.
  • Raid Finder
    Each Hellfire Citadel Raid finder wing rewards 150 Valor Points (there are 5 wings)
    Each Blackrock Foundry Raid finder wing rewards 75 Valor Points (there are 4 wings)
    Each high Maul Raid finder wing rewards 75 Valor Points (there are 3 wings)
    If you do them all in one week you will be rewarded with 1275 Valor in total.

How to upgrade Legendary Ring with Valor?

  • Head to Tanaan Jungle.
  • Talk to Dawn-Seeker Krisek (the bird that sells items such as flying mount for Valor Points)
  • Buy 1 Crystallized Fel for 1250 Valor points that rewards you 3 extra item levels on your Legendary ring.

Upgrade your gear with Valor points

If you earned new gear recently that needs to be upgraded or loads of gear that needs to be upgraded, it´s probably a good time to fix those items now.

To fully upgrade your gear, if it falls into the category for being upgraded, you need:

  • 7000 Valor Pointsif you have a 2-hand weapon and legendary ring
  • 7500 Valor Pointsif you have two 1-hand weapons and legendary ring
  • 7500 Valor Pointsif you have 2-hand weapon and no legendary ring
  • 8000 Valor Pointsif you have two 1-hand weapons and no legendary ring

Mythic Dungeons

Very good way to farm gear.

Mythic Dungeons are on a weekly lockout, and drop gear that's item level 685 with a chance to drop loot that's item level 725.

All Mythic dungeon bosses offer a chance to use a bonus roll using a Seal of Inevitable Fate (the new bonus roll currency).
