How to Acquire the Cinderwold Sizzlestinger Pet

With the introduction of The War Within, a wealth of new pets has been added to the game, including the sought-after Cinderwold Sizzlestinger. This pet, characterized by its reddish hue reminiscent of the Cinderbee Drones found on the Isle of Dorn, can be yours with a bit of effort. To add this fiery companion to your collection, you’ll need to complete the quest titledHome Is Where the Candle Is.

Overview of the Battle Pet Collection

While it’s not necessary to finish the entire Kobold Culture and Integration storyline to undertakeHome Is Where the Candle Is, this quest consists of three interconnected quest chains. You’ll find all three NPCs that you need to assist within the same building located at coordinates (/way 47.8, 35.5) in Gundargaz.

Step-by-Step Quest Guide

1. Assist Fourman Grimes

Your first task involves theKobold Kleanupquest. Here, you’ll need to tidy up around Gundargaz by performing the following tasks:

• Remove 3 Encroaching Overgrowth

• Clear away 6 piles of rubble

• Capture 8 Infesting Stoneskitterers

Once completed, converse withSteamwarden Hurltto progress.

Next, tackle the Pipe Patching and Plumber Power quests. For the plumbing mission, you can either solve a puzzle on your own or team up with the Tunnel Rat Crew Boss, which takes a mere 90 seconds. Regardless of your choice, the rewards remain the same. If the puzzle becomes frustrating, don’t hesitate to opt for the easier method.

After that, head to the upper areas of the main building in Gundargaz to fix leaking pipes by flying through 12 steam vents. Once you’ve completed this, return to Fourman Grimes to turn in both quests and receive the Critical Pressure! quest.

Interact with the large vault-like contraption above the inn to release the pressure, which turns out to be an elemental named Geothermus. Defeat this elemental to finish the task for Fourman Grimes.

2. Learn from Granny Scribbles

Your next quest begins with Dripsy Forgot Her Candle. Granny Scribbles wishes to share kobold tales with you and the Quickwick Tenderfoot children. Engage with her dialogue, and you’ll be transported directly into her first story.

You’ll experience various tales, including those of Dripsy, Chomps, and the wickless candle. During the latter story, feel free to take your time climbing; there’s no rush. Once you’ve absorbed all of Granny Scribbles' wisdom, you’ll have completed this quest.

3. Help Janky

For your final task, seek out Janky in the Cinderwold area of the Isle of Dorn. He’s struggling to collect wax without facing certain doom from aggressive bees. After gathering the necessary wax and learning about pollination, it’s time to assist Janky in setting up a shop back in Gundargaz.

Pick up the Janky Candles quest and return to Gundargaz. You’ll need to run a trading chain, starting with Bosh, who requires some tab-clearing with the innkeeper. Speak to Innkeeper Brax, Foreman Shalea, Machinist Valyka, and Foreman Svart in that order. Once you’ve gathered all the Elementally Active Coal from various enemies, return to each NPC to trade for items until you’re back with Bosh, who will provide you with a Begrudgingly Poured Cinderbrew.

With Janky's Candles now open for business, you've successfully aided him. Don’t forget to pick up a candle as a token of your support for local businesses.
