Locating the Rare: Star in the Oasis

  • Where to Find: The rare named Star spawns in the Oasis area. When active, Star appears as a large elite icon on your map, visible in both phased and non-phased versions of the zone.

  • Mount Drop: Star has a chance to drop the Starb’s Last Lunch mount.

How to Engage Star

  • Phasing Required: You can’t attack Star in the normal phase. To engage, you must enter the phasing. Look for a portal near the rare’s location.

  • Portal Mechanics:

    • Don’t Jump In! The portal here is deceptive. Unlike portals in previous dungeons, jumping in will just drop you to your death.

    • Use the Button: Instead, interact with the “Face Warp” button. This uses your ry wraps to traverse via arcane flows and safely brings you into the correct phase for the fight.

The Encounter: Platform Mechanics

  • Platforms: Once phased, you’ll find yourself on one of four platforms surrounding Star.

  • Swirly Thingies: On the left and right sides of each platform are swirling portals. Stepping on these will bounce you between platforms.

  • Debuffs and Hazards:

    • Debuff: Star applies a debuff that deals damage around you. Stay away from the tank and other players to avoid being knocked off.

    • Spikes: Spikes shoot out from the platform. If you’re hit, you risk being tossed off and falling.

    • Swirly Knockback: The swirling portals can also toss you off the platform if you’re not careful. Use them to move, but time your jumps!

  • Stay Alert: Watch for the debuff and avoid clustering with others, especially near the tank.

  • Platform Hopping: Be ready to jump between platforms to dodge hazards.

  • Don’t Rush the Portal: Always use the Face Warp button, not the portal itself.
