8.3 FULL STARTER GUIDE PART 7 – New Essences

In patch 8.3 you can level your Heart of Azeroth necklace to lvl 80 and there are more essences added into the game.

You will also have another extra slot in your Heart of Azeroth that fits a Minor Essence. You will unlock this at level 75 on your Heart of Azeroth.

There are 7  new essences coming out in 8.3 that consists of 2 essences for each role dps, tank and heal. The last essence is a general one for all roles.

General Essence

Formless Void

Major Slot

Replicate the energy in your target's Heart of Azeroth, gaining access to rank 3 of their currently slotted Major Essence for the next 15 sec.

Does not work on passive Essences.

It doesn’t matter what spec you have. A tank can copy a healer and a healer can copy a dps etc.

Minor Slot

Each time any ally within 40 yds uses an Azerite Essence, you gain 385 primary stat and 86 Haste for 20 sec.

The ally who used an Azerite Essence also gains 86 Haste for 20 sec.

How to get

Drops from following bosses in Ny'alotha Raid:

  • The Prophet Skitra
  • Ra'den
  • Vexiona
  • Il'gynoth
  • Corruption Reborn
  • Mind of N'zoth

Dps Essences

Breath of the Dying

Major slot

This is a single target dmg that does very high fire dmg. If the target has less than 20% health, the cooldown is reduced by 30 sec (the normal cooldown is 45 sec). Very good execute essence as well.

When you increase the rank on it, it will also reduce the cooldown by 30 sec when the enemy has more than 80% health.

Further, if the spell kills the enemy, its cooldown is reset and does 100% dmg on the next use.

Minor Slot

Your spells and abilities have chance to strike the enemy with fire dmg.  
When you increase the rank – it will also heal you for 50% of the dmg dealt.

Further – If your target is below 20%  health, the chance for extra damage is increased by 400%.

How to get

Rank 1 – The Questgiver is Magni Bronzebeard from Chamber of Heart. The questchain must be completed. Starts with “A Titanic Problem” and ends with “Forging Onward”.

Rank 2 – You must be Honored with Uldum Accord. Buy the Rank 2 from the Vendor Provisioner Qorra in Ramkahen in Uldum. It costs 50 Ny'alothian Tear.

Rank 3 - You must be Revered with Uldum Accord. Buy the Rank 2 from the Vendor Provisioner Qorra in Ramkahen in Uldum. It costs ?? Ny'alothian Tear.

 

Spark of Inspiration

Major Slot

Increase the dmg with Azerite Essences for all party members within 15 yards by 45% for 10 sec.
Rank 2 – for 20 sec.
Rank 3 – for 20 sec and also speed by 39.

Minor Slot

Spells and abilities have a chance to increase Haste by 153 and reduce the cooldown of your currently slotted Major Essence by 1 sec.

Rank 2 – chance to do it for you and 1 more player

Rank 3 – chance to do it for you and 2 more players

How to get

Rank 1 – From Horrific Visions of N'zoth. It drops from the Cursed chests of Thrall and Alleria.

Rank 2 – From Horrific Visions of N'zoth. It drops from the Cursed chests of Rexxar, Geya'rah, Master Umbric or Mathias Shaw.

Rank 3 – You must get the achievement "Through the Depths of Visions". Then buy it from the vendor Locus-Walker for 50 Echoes of Oblivion.

Heal Essences

Spirit of Preservation

Major Slot

Channel a beam of energy into your ally and heals for 123k over 2.5 sec. Other players in the beam will be healed for 5k every 0.5 sec.

Each time the primary target is healed, that player gets one stack of the minor slot ability.

Minor Slot

Every 5 sec, it causes the next Quick Heal to heal more, and stacks 5 times.

Each stack increases the crit chance of next Quick Heal within 6 sec by 20%.

Unwavering Ward

Major Slot

Release 12 protective spheres outward over 4 sec, granting the first ally to touch it a barrier that absorbs 21k dmg for 10 sec.

Each time you send out a protective sphere, gain an absorb shield for 2% of your maximum health.

When an ally gains the absorb shield, you and that ally heal for 4k.

Minor Slot

Every 10 sec, allies with 15 yds gain a shield that absorbs 2.7k dmg and stacks up to 12k.

Targets protected by it take 3% reduced dmg.

Tank Essences

Touch of the Everlasting

Major Power

Your next death is prevented, and you instead regenerate to 40% of your max health and take 85% reduced dmg for 3 sec. Cannot occur more often than once per 10 min.

When your death is prevented, the cooldown of your major spell ability is reset.

Minor Power

When you fall below 35% health, gain 34 Avoidance for 15 sec, and your next Active Mitigation will last 30% longer. This can only occur once every 60 sec.

Strength of the Warden

Major Power

Taunt all nearby enemies, forcing them to attack you for 6 sec.
Increase your dodge chance by 15% for 6 sec.

Targets affected by this essence will take 50% dmg from you.

Minor Power

Every 2 sec, store 3k healing up to a max of 59k.
When you dodge or parry an attack, the heal is unleashed.

The max health of all Tank spec players in your party or raid is increased by 3% and stacks.
