Moudi´s notes and thoughts before PTR Raid testing (The Eye of the Jailer)


Overview


You will fight the main boss (the eye)

Every time the boss loose 25 health (meaning at 75% / 50% / 25% health) you enter phase 2.

In phase 2 the boss is immune to dmg and spawns 2 adds.

When adds are dead, you can attack boss again, phase 1.

There is a phase 3 as well, which seems to start after killing the 2 adds when boss has 25% health.

In phase 3 you will fight the boss and have abilities from phase 1 and phase 2 at the same time boss gets an enrage (more dmg, reduce healing etc) for the rest of the fight. 


Grapple time

During this encounter you can use the harpoons from the chain piles.

Use them to grapple across the gap.


PHASE 1 – HIS GAZE UPON YOU


Piercing Lens (Tanks)

  • The eye force a sharp physical dmg.

No debuff


Deathlink (Tanks and deadly)

  • The eye of the jailer does very high physical dmg to main tank.
  • This will damage up to 9 players in the raid for the amount of damage the main tank takes.

Mitigate it to reduce dmg on other players


Eye Bolts

  • The small flying adds around boss (deathseekers)  do Shadow dmg to random players.

Healers beware.


HEROIC MODE
Adds: Stygian Abductors

Boss summons adds (Abductors) that drag players of the platform.

They have 2 abilities:

  • Dragging Chains
    Chains a player and players nearby.
    Tries to pull those players of the platform.
    The more players, the harder to pull the players up.
    Add can fall on the platform if to heavy.
    Stack up on targeted chained player so add falls on the platform and nuke it.
  • Assailing Lance
    When add is on the ground.
    Throw their lance at current player doing moderate dmg and a bleed debuff for 15 sec. Both are physical dmg.
    Kill the add when it lands.

PHASE 2 – DOUBLE VISION


Boss ejects 2 eyes (Rotseeker and Slothseeker)
The landing sites of these 2 eyes do massive dmg.
Boss cloaks itself in a shield.

Basically, you will fight the 2 eyes in this phase, and handle boss abilities at the same time.

Boss (Eye of the Jailer)

Titanic Death Gaze

  • Boss focus energy and blast.
  • Does moderate raid shadow dmg.

Healers beware.


Desolation Beam

  • Boss does moderate shadow dmg to a random player,
  • Any player within 8 yards will be the next target that takes even higher shadow dmg.
  • This keeps on jumping to different players if they are within 8 yards.

Stay spread all the time.


Soul Shatter

  • Boss shatters a random player into 3 souls, this does high shadow dmg.
  • The soul shards does dmg to that player, reduce the movement speed and reduce dmg and healing done.

It will be gone when that player runs in to the 3 souls again.

Target player must run into all his 3 souls as fast as possible.


The Deathseeker Eyes

You will fight 2 adds, Rotseeker and Slothseeker 

Shared Suffering

  • When the two eyes (Rotseeker and Slothseeker) are within 30 yards, they cast suffering every 3 sec.
  • Suffering is a shadow dmg and a stacking debuff that increase shadow dmg taken by 20% for 1 min.

Tanks need to tank one eye each and spread them at least 30 yards from each other.


Piercing Lens

  • The eye add does moderate physical dmg to the tank.

Dying Suffering

  • When the small flying adds around boss (deathseekers) they will do cast Suffering every 8 sec ( until all of them are dead.
  • Suffering - shadow dmg and a stacking debuff that increase shadow dmg taken by 20% for 1 min

Dps, Make sure that all are dead.


Slothful Corruption

Puts a debuff on random players´that
- does low/moderate shadow dmg ever 1.5 sec for 21 sec.
- reduce spellcasting
- reduce range attack speed
- reduce movement speed by 40%

Must be dispelled


Spreading Misery

  • The deathseeker eyes around the boss puts debuffs on random players.
  • This debuff does low/moderate shadow damage every 1 sec until cancelled.
  • When removed, the debuff becomes a pool on the ground.

PHASE 3 – IMMEDIATE EXTERMINATION


Immediate Extermination

Boss will:
- increase its attack speed by 50%
- increase shadow dmg
- reduce healing taken of all players by 10% every 6 sec.

Bloodlust/ Timewarp / Heroism


Annihilation Glare

  • Boss channels a powerful beam.
  • This sweeps the platform
  • Getting hit does deadly shadow dmg every 1 sec and a knockback.

Beam rotates around the platform?
Does boss portal to center and does it?

Is grapple a good use here?


Piercing Lens

Same as phase 1


Deathlink

Same as phase 1


Desolation Beam

Same as phase 2


Soul Shatter

Same as phase 2


Stygian abductors

Same as phase 1


 

Tanks

Move away from other players when Heroic Destiny
- (Boss puts a debuff that does low shadow dmg every 2 sec for 8 sec. )
- When debuff ends, it does high damage to all players. The further away from other player, the less dmg they take.

Be wary of triggering Precognition more times than needed.
Warden Korgath acquires a new primary threat target, this next 6 melee attacks do 50% additional physical dmg.
Tank swapping triggers this?

 

Help moving the Loom of Fate to counterattack the Realign Fate.
- Boss activates loom of fate.
- Loom of fate will have a new alignment
- This makes him take 99% less dmg.
- The power also builds in the boss until he is able to cast Darkest Destiny on all players.
- Putting the loom of fate back to its original alignment will stop all this.


Dps

Run away with  Call of Eternity debuff where it will not dmg any players.
Puts a debuff on random player that does low Shadow damage every 2 sec for 8 sec.
When expired, it does high shadow dmg to any player within 20 yards.

Help moving the Loom of Fate to counterattack the Realign Fate.
- Boss activates loom of fate.
- Loom of fate will have a new alignment

Healers

Beware that tanks take increased dmg when precognition.
