EVERYTHING you need to know about DELVES: A Comprehensive Guide

In the upcoming expansion of World of Warcraft, The War Within, Delves are a new feature that will provide players with exciting endgame content and rewards. This guide aims to provide a detailed overview of Delves, including their gameplay, features, accessibility, integration with The War Within, difficulty tiers, rewards, and locations.

Gameplay and Features

Delves can be completed solo or in groups of up to five players, with cross-faction grouping enabled. Players will always be accompanied by an NPC companion with customizable abilities to support them during the Delve. The NPC in season 1 is Brann Bronzebeard which means that we will most likely see the other characters from the League of explorers in coming seasons.

You will find a Delve on the War within map that has a delve icon. Once you come close to the entrance of a delve, you will see a pop up UI that gives you information about the Delve which we will go through in more detail later. Delves will be seamlessly integrated into the open world of World of Warcraft, offering players a new way to experience endgame content without the need to enter instanced dungeons.

Inside the Delves, players will encounter different types of environments and mobs based on where the Delve is located in the four zones of The War Within. Delves in the land of Khaz Algar will have mobs that you have seen in that zone. Delves in the Ringing deeps will will have mobs that you have seen in that zone and also the environment. Delves in Hallowfall will have an environment and mobs that you have seen in that zone. And Delves in Azj-Kahet will have an environment and mobs that you have seen in that zone.

You will encounter rare mobs, treasure chests that grant special powers, and even herb and mining nodes. The special powers are similar to what you have seen in Thorgast in Shadowlands or Cobalt Assembly in Dragonflight. In Delves you will get a power that is not class or spec related, instead it gives haste, or lightning bolts comes out from you and does AoE or a defensive shield. These lasts for 1 min. You can also get mobility abilities that lasts for the entire Delve run.  Additionally, there will be specific objectives and puzzles that players need to complete to earn rewards. Delves will feature a variety of rewards, including mounts, achievements, pets, and gear equivalent to that obtained from raids and Mythic dungeons. A Delve run takes around 10 minutes to complete, but longer when you do higher difficulties.
